Introduction

Vision

  • To provide quality and reliable network infrastructure to rural population by creating a world class optical fibre network , which shall be accessible to all and shall foster the economic growth of the region.

Mission

  • Provisioning of up to 1Gbps bandwidth at 7692 Gram Panchayat (including 170 District and Taluka Centers) of state of Gujarat covered under BharatNet phase II in the stipulated time period.
  • To leverage on the state of art tools & technologies in combination of the sector specific good practices in designing, formation and management of the proposed network.
  • To craft a viable commercial ecosystem by bridging the gap between the commercial forces and untapped demand in rural areas.

The Gujarat Government has setup an SPV namely “Gujarat Fibre Grid Network Limited (GFGNL)” to implement
Phase-II of BharatNet Project in Gujarat.

This SPV has been created to synergize with the efforts of Government of India under the National Optical Fibre Network and Digital India initiative and make focused efforts to actualize a state-to-village fibre grid and to facilitate building common Government owned infrastructure to provide internet facilities to residents of State of Gujarat.

  • Internet speed can be extended upto 1 Gbps per GP with very few upgradation in network.
  • GP to Gandhinagar SDC direct connectivity via government owned fibre.
  • 12 core OFC per GP for future government and commercial use to private operators.
  • Government owned and maintained OFC network for better reliability and security.
